Faculty of Education Sciences

The faculty of education started at UEMI in 2013-2014 academic year and covers fields of Psycho-pedagogy and French-English departments for a bachelor’s degrees.

The Faculty of education trains professionals who come from primary and secondary schools; religious, government and non-governmental organization sectors. Graduates from this faculty are qualified professional teachers and serve in schools’ leadership and management. Besides that, they are also trained for further academic and research professions.  The main objectives are:

  • To provide highly relevant courses in education for teachers.
  • To provide an innovative research environment that creates new knowledge in education for the benefit of local communities and beyond
  • To support development of the talents of students and staff.
  • To train and educate future researchers and teaching and providing scientific solutions to the current challenges of education

Welcome Humphrey Fellow Lazare Sebitereko Rukundwa to the Schar School

The Schar School of Policy and Government is honored to host Lazare Sebitereko Rukundwa, a Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Programrecipient, who will be with the School until June 8, 2018.

The Schar School is Dr. Rukundwa’s last stop after spending time at Cornell University and Penn State University. His intention is to learn best-practices in higher education leadership and administration to replicate in his home country of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Read more
